CAVAL CARM Centre (Australia) Selects Relais ILL

08 November 2010

Relais International is pleased to announce that CAVAL Ltd has selected the Relais ILL Hosted Service to manage interlibrary loan and document delivery services provided by its CARM Centre located in Melbourne, Australia.   The system will be operated through the Hosting Service managed by CAVAL for Australasian customers of the Relais ILL Management Software.

Cathie Jilovsky, Chief Information Officer for CAVAL, says “we are delighted to be working with Relais staff and expanding our relationship to serve our customers”.

The CARM Centre uses the Ex Libris Aleph Library Management System.  The Relais ILL Hosted Service includes the Relais Access web-based interface for library users to create and monitor their own ILL requests.  Staff can use a new and enhanced web-based staff interface and the Relais windows staff client to process ILL requests.

Clare MacKeigan, COO of Relais International, says “we are very pleased to be working with the staff of the CARM Centre and to expand our relationship with CAVAL”.  The implementation is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2010.

The CARM Centre houses a shared collection managed by CAVAL for long-term ownership, maintenance and access, providing a cost-effective solution to their archival storage. The Centre gives libraries fast, easy access to rarely-used material, delivering requested material digitally to the user-desktop. Members can save millions of dollars in storage costs by utilising this facility.
