Service Menu

CAVAL is a unique entity that doesn't fit the usual categories of a vendor, a library, or a professional association, so for better understanding, we have created a list of our present range of services and programs that cater to our membership and the wider community. We have also included case studies showcasing successful collaborations with other organizations. These examples demonstrate how working together towards a common goal can have a positive impact on the community.

Sara Davidsson

Sara’s role as Member Services Coordinator gives her the opportunity to collaborate across the entirety of CAVAL’s membership, and beyond, on projects and programs of all sizes. Sara is passionate about leading cross-institutional engagement and sector collaboration, as well as delivering capability building opportunities for all library staff. While Sara graduated with a Master of Information Studies in 2018, her previous experience in hospitality and customer service is invaluable when liaising with stakeholders. Sara's greatest strengths are her organisational skills and ability to form and nurture relationships. When not at CAVAL Sara is serving as Secretary on the ALIA Community on Resource Description (ACORD) special interest group which provides a chance for her to continue to be involved with resource description developments, as this is where she kick-started her library career.

Marie Robineau

Marie has had quite an exciting journey in the book industry, spanning over 20 years across three different countries - Ireland, France, and Australia. She first worked as a cataloguer, then in customer service at Ireland's most famous bookshop; she now puts all that experience to good use here at CAVAL. Marie's greatest strengths lie in her ability to work well in a team, take initiative and adapt to new situations. She firmly believes that to succeed in this industry, one needs to understand and respect customers' diverse needs and perspectives and go out of their way to match those needs.

Before joining CAVAL, Marie also had the opportunity to work on some exciting literary events, including the Melbourne Writers Festival and managing a quaint little bookshop on Reunion Island. But her proudest achievement to date is her current role at CAVAL as the Language Resources Lead, where she brings a whole set of values such as reliability, enthusiasm, teamwork, and collaboration to those who use our services.

Matt Robertson

Matt has over 20 years of experience in book supply companies. He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology and is always open to new ideas. He tackles client issues like puzzles and analyses data and uses his vast computing systems knowledge to lead by example. He understands that the correct solution to a problem may differ from the first idea presented. From that, he significantly mapped CAVAL’s major workflows into a managed system where all staff interactions could be monitored and streamlined. Before joining CAVAL, he worked with DA Information Services, where he helped modernise their CRM platform into a sleek, web-based system and transitioned their infrastructure to a virtualised platform. He's also worked with Watsonia Publishing. Innovating and streamlining processes is his passion. He firmly believes that by continuously improving and simplifying tasks, we can add more value to our community.
